Some say New York rock is dead. The club scene is dead. When people go
out, they want to hear DJ's...
Obviously, these naysayers haven't experienced Ten Miles of Venus,
screaming out of downtown NYC with a ferocity unseen since the glory days
of punk. Like a long-needed kick in the ass, their searing guitar-driven
sound will wake up anyone who's been sleeping on New York rock.
Yes, TMOV has two songs on 92.3 K-Rock's rotation. And yes, they blew
away a thousand-strong crowd at the Limelight, New York's notorious
citadel of musical sin. And you should probably know that they've played
shows with Bruce Springsteen, as well as headlining European rock
festivals with the bands Hey and Kajik. But most importantly, you should
know that TMOV's Stuart Bragg almost beat the shit out of The Late Shows
Paul Schaeffer this past summer That's rock n' roll.
Bragg sings like the love child of Roger Waters and Ric Okasek - on PCP.
And Brother Reg works his axe like he's on a mission from god, spreading
a gospel of fat licks and delicious tube distortion. Check out the songs
"Holiday" and "Unwind" - they're so hooky that for them not(italic) to be
radio staples would be straight-up criminal. >>
Ten Miles of Venus just finished recording with legendary Grammy Award winning
producer Rob Fraboni- of such greats as The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, and Sheryl Crow to name a few. TMOV's tri-state following grows everyday, like a cult. It will only get bigger, because they are what everybody has been so desperately awaiting: pure, unrelenting 21st century Rock N' Roll.
