Dreddmaster, AKA, Dreddmaster X, or Dredd does not fit the mold of the average metal-head. At age six he began taking classical piano lessons. A year later he played his first recital at The World famous Carnegie hall in New York City. These yearly recitals would continue for ten years. When Dreddmaster was fifteen he played his first gig for money at a School Dance. But Dredd would not escape his second calling to hang in the streets.
So he joined a gang and also fulfilled his desire to kill, rob and destroy. Many of his childhood friends and homies literally didn’t make it into out of High School with Dredd.
It was during this period of time that he decided to make music a career. Dredd performed in clubs, school dances and music festivals all during his time in High School.
He accepted a scholarship to Rutgers University as music major. He became famous on campus for doing gigs, being wild, selling a variety of drugs and stolen property in and around the college campus. He has sacrificed large animals at his live shows such as goats, chickens, and a pit-bull. In addition to brutally assaulting patrons who voiced their disagreement with his stage antics.
After his graduation from Rutgers University Dredd attended The World Famous Julliard School of Music Graduate Program. He would later work with Lenny White, Roberta Flak, Toni Braxton, Phil Collns, Aretha Franklin, The Winans, The Clark Sisters, James Spaulding, Steve Gadd, Roy Ayers, Michael Breeker, Patti Labelle, Michael Bolton, Jon Faddis, Ron Carter, Freddie Waits, Bob Cunningham, Bill Saxton, and many others.
If you were to meet Dredd you’d immediately become aware of his duel abilities to operate successfully in both worlds; utilizing his street-knowledge and book knowledge. Even today years after the blunt of his crime sprees have passed. Law Enforcement Officials in many jurisdictions tremble at the sound of the name Dreddmaster. Unlike many of his contemporaries he successfully evaded prosecution with his sophistication, intelligence, extraordinary perception, and knowing when to quit. While all this criminal activity is going on Dredd is quietly establishing an impressive background playing and composing and producing funk, hard rock, salsa, reggae, straight ahead jazz, blues, heavy metal, alternative rock, gospel, classical, hardcore, punk, new wave, an death metal. Dreddmaster is one of the most versatile musicians in the history of music. This is a new day; this is a day when it’s perfectly proper for “The Ultimate Real Life Bad Boy” to be accepted as a great artist, producer and entertainer. Dreddmaster armed with his naturally aggressive, hostile, extremely brutal, personality, and his from the heart lyrics; is the most hardcore entertainer of all time.
