Soul Shake, was formed in 1999 out of a need for it’s members to try and offer music fans something out of the present “norm” in today’s rock trends. The band states that the anger, and soulless nature of what is currently called “rock and roll” is what sparked them to “reinvent the wheel”.>
By grasping hold of musical elements of yesterdays Hard Rock, Funk, and Blues, Soul Shake’s five members insist that “it is well past time for rock to feel good again, so if it means that we have to delve back in time, and embrace to 60’s and 70’s, to make the 21st century have a more viable musical sound-scape, That’s exactly what we are going to do”. In February of 2001, Soul Shake released their debut album “Revolution” to critical acclaim. Music publications around the globe taught “revolution” to be a refreshing change of pace, and a “Must Have” album of 2001. Along with such high reviews, the band has seen more than 2.8 million sanctioned mp3 downloads, and thousands of CD’s sold. Soul Shake attributes this success to constant playing, constant promotion, and the fact that people just want a change. Soul Shake’s influences span a wide range of musical styles, from the funk of Sly Stone, Lenny Kravitz, and Earth Wind and Fire, the rocking blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, and The Black Crowes, to the hard rock of Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Black Sabbath. It is the mixture of all of these elements that make the band’s music addictive, and instantly likeable. Soul Shake is comprised of; Warren Von Kruck - Lead Vocals & Guitars, Ray Schneller - Guitar & Vocals, Chris Campione - Keyboards, Acoustic Guitar & Vocals, Joe Caruso – Drums & Vocals, and LJ Higgins – Bass & Vocals. Each of these five young men have clocked countless hours of recording and national stage experience, and have just begun work on their follow up album, which is shaping up to be a blockbuster effort. Soul Shake believes in accepting NO MUSICAL BOUNDARIES. “we expect to explore countless styles, and still manage to stay true to our roots”.
