Universal Mind was founded in September 99 with drummer Dave Forbes and guitarist Brian Burns. Mike Reynoso (formerly with the Bad Habits) was brought in to play rhythm guitar and Steve West on bass. This line up lasted for a few months then Mike put down the guitar and picked up the bass and he's been slapping and plucking ever since. They were a 3 piece for a while and then picked up rhythm guitarist Rudy Gomez and Singer/Guitarist Sean Murphy (formerly of Good Fellas) to complete the line up. This line up has stood strong for over a year now. Their aggressive new school punk style is accompanied with a lot of melodic and hardcore breakdowns, very harmonic vocals and bluesy leads taking listeners on journey through their mind and senses. Universal Mind has performed at venues like Showcase Theatre in Corona where they took 3rd out of 50 bands in a Battle of the Bands. They have also performed in Orange County at The Boogie, and some smaller clubs in Downey like the Stardust and The Gully. Universal Mind truly covers all musical bases, and lets their musical imagination and creativity show to who ever is listening.
