Poetic heartfelt lyrics with catchy melodic music are the best way to describe the emo rock band Dragging Anchor. Formed in Fairfield, Ohio during late 2001, Dragging Anchor wanted to not only reach people but also, rock the stage like no other band. The trio consists of Shaun the leader singer and guitar player, Dave the bassist and background singer, and Jacob beating the drums.
Lead singer, Shaun originally came from the successful pop-punk group, He’s Down after members of the band moved away to fulfill careers. It wasn’t long before he found Dave the perfect bassist for the position and Jacob a great drummer. They hit it off immediately and began to write music. Dragging Anchor finally gave them a home to lay down some catchy music and form the serious and talented band now know as Dragging Anchor.
As of February 2002, Dragging Anchor signed a record deal with Alone in the Dark Records and has finished recording their debut album, Scars That Don’t Show to be released April 2 2002. They’re currently gearing up to play a great tour of the Midwest venues and to travel as far as the fans will draw them.
