We are a garage band from western upstate new york! We comprise of Adam Sarsfield (geetar vocals) Josh Bryant (Drums) Todd Ford (bass) and Mendeley Wells (geetar backing vocals).We recently changed our name from The Suburban Kings to now Chapter 9. If you think the old name is better feel free to not tell us! All 4 of us have been friends dating back to 6th grade and as recently as freshman year. Our infulences of music range greatly which in itself dictates what we play. Josh being large into... well like who knows what Josh likes, Mendeley is into Weezer and anything he can listen to, Todd is a 311 junkie and Wooten fanatic, and Adam is the humble sublime fan. When we formed we were a small Ska band. Consisting of drums, geetar, sax, trumpet and trombone. Before we could aquire Todd our bassist the horn section departed leaving us to have to divert to new forms of music. We could play reggae but Ska without horns seemed kinda empty. How would reel big fish sound without its horns? So we just ditched the whole preconceptual ideals of what our music would be and wrote what we felt instead of what we wanted to be. Needless to say we created a kind of uber-EMO. Not totally different but in itself its own entity. Pardon the rambling but if you didn't wanna know about us you should't have clicked the button. We're expanding our music to newer levels now. Adding Mendeley was key, and experimenting with drop-D offers a whole new expanse of ideas. So now that you know some about us, check us out sometime.
